The Big Stocktake. Part 8

It's a Pirates life for me.

Whilst waiting on those grass tufts for the WW1 collection I set my printers to work on some of the amazing terrain from Dark Realms

I am not sure if these buildings are on their store yet, but if they are not, I am sure they will be soon.

Resin printers are great for terrain.  I used 2 CR10s Pro V2 machines to print out this little lot.  I am currently in the process of printing a church to go with this set and I will more than likely add a couple more houses too.

I had a few breakages on the balcony supports that hold the roof up.  It's not too much of a drama and replacing the uprights with wooden beams is a simple task and will likely add something to the character of the buildings anyway.

This is what I have got done so far.

The Big Stocktake. Part 7

Almost done with Great War.

The grass tufts arrived so I set about finishing off the bases of my WW1 British.

After basing them all I decided to go back through them all and add Company markings to them.  Again, I haven't gone with historical accuracy on this, rather I went with what would be easy to spot on the tabletop.

have.

Yellow Company, that consists of mostly assault type troops.

White Company, that has more support troops, Artillery and Mortars

Blue Company, which is a second wave assault company.  Similar to Yellow Company but with slightly less machine guns.

I then took another look at the German A7V tank and decided that I would make it slightly darker than what it was.  Now I'm just waiting on some decals for the German tank, and I can call this collection done.

The Big Stocktake. Part 6

 Pieces of Eight

Blood and Plunder by Firelock Games is up next.

I picked this as the next to post up because I have backed their last Kickstarter campaign quite heavily and know that before too long, I will be inundated with stuff to build and paint.

Everything I have to date is fully painted.

British - 17 Figures

Dutch - 25 Figures

Unaligned - 25 Figures

French - 25 Figures

Characters - 11 Figures

Ships - 7 A combination of Firelock Games and Ainsty Castings.

Total 93 Figures and 7 Ships.

I also have enough cannon for all the ships and plenty to spare.

For this I am lacking somewhat in terrain, so the plan is to add some suitable terrain for some land-based battles.

The Big Stocktake. Part 5

Roadblock

I have hit my first roadblock in this project log.

I started to add grass tufts to the many bases of infantry and only had enough to do the German side.  I also realised that I do not have any suitable decals for my German tank.

So, I have done as much as I can with what I had available.  All the Germans are done with the exception of adding markings to the tank.  I did repaint a lot of the helmets because as much as I like the camouflaged look, they did look a bit over whelming on mass.  It's now roughly a 50/50 split.  It also means that I can field two separate companies and tell which models belong to which.

I added some simple markings to my two British tanks.  I am not sure if these are historically accurate, but I think they look okay and will also allow me to tell the difference between the two on the tabletop.

So, whilst waiting for a delivery of grass tufts and decals I will push on with something else.

The Big Stocktake. Part 3

Ancient Macedonians

So, this was an easy choice to do next.

The figures are from Forged in Battle

The first half of my 15mm Ancients project is the Macedonians.

My little army consists of.

40 x Companion Cavalry

320 x Sarissa Armed infantry

40 x Hypaspists

146 Mercenary Heavy Infantry

12 x Heavy Mercenary Cavalry

24 x Light Cavalry

26 x Skirmishers

12 x Skirmish Cavalry

12 x Mercenary Heavy Cavalry

48 x Light Infantry

7 x Commanders

A total of 687 models.

The Big Stocktake. Part 4

The Great War

Late WWI is up next.  Figures from Renegade Miniatures which sadly seem to be no longer available.  These were painted a very long time ago so it's just sheer laziness on my part to not have finished them off.

British 196 Figures, 2 Tanks and 2 Artillery Pieces.

German 163 Figures, 1 Tank and 2 Artillery Pieces.

Not much to do to finish this collection.  Some markings on the tanks and artillery and finishing off on the bases.   This is the current state of play for this little lot.

Scenery made by a good friend of mine, Lev Vykopal.
